Pioneer Lowers BD Drive Price and More!
Engadget is reporting that Pioneer has lowered the price of the BDC-S02BKZ Blu-ray Disc Combo in China by 41% , bringing the price down to 999 yuan ($145).
Comparison: Apple TV 2.0 HD vs. Blu-ray vs. HD Cable vs. DVD

The guys over at iLounge have put together an excellent article that compares the new Apple TV 2.0 HD movie downloads, to Blu-ray, HD cable VOD, and good ol’ DVD.
What they found out (all pale in comparison to the Blu-ray) didn’t come as a surprise to us, but we were expecting better PQ with the Apple TV HD movie downloads. The film they used in the shootout was "Live Free or Die Hard."
Seagate CEO Attempts to Predict Your Digital Future
In a recent interview with Wired, Bill Watkins — of Seagate CEO fame — was quoted as saying that even if Blu-ray manages to win the format war, "it’s a meaningless victory." Naturally, Bill states that physical distribution is on the way out, and that digital distribution is the wave of the future. It should come as no surprise that a CEO from Seagate would be extolling the virtues of digital downloads, especially when they stand to rake in loads of cash on their advanced digital storage solutions, but it seems a bit premature to write off physical discs, doesn’t it?
