Nice list,
How does The Prestige look on HD DVD? I only have had the chance to see it on Blu-ray.
Tyler,
I haven’t seen the HD DVD import yet but there are screen grabs of the Blu-ray and HD DVD version and I can’t see any fidelity loss at all with the HD DVD version.
This German site has a bunch of screen grabs of movies and The Prestige looked as good on HD30 as it does on BD50.

Tony,
Im really looking forward to checking out Hot Fuzz.
I saw it at the theater and thought the sound was amazing. How does Hot Fuzz sound on your system?
Tony,
Just curious, why the French import for Serenity? Does it offer anything over the US release?
I’m really looking forward to hearing how the Japanese “Band of Brothers” release pans out.
Hot Fuzz-audio sounds great–no lossless track, but I have the Xbox add on so I can’t use that anyway. Overall, the audio is fantastic, the PQ is also amazing. Of course, the movie itself is GREAT!!!
French Serenity import uses a newer VC-1 codec and does look a little better to me, mainly in the quality of the blacks. If I wasn’t such a Whedon fanatic I wouldn’t have bothered importing, but I’ve imported Buffy episodes from the UK also in my fanaticism. (Buffy UK ep from Season 4 on are in glorious widescreen!)
I haven’t heard that Band of Brothers is coming out in Japan, it has been announced for US by HBO with no date yet. Band of Brothers is one of the best WWII films/series ever, so I can’t wait to check this out.

Tokyo drift is good eyecandy for car geeks. I’m hoping to pick that up on clearance somewhere. King Kong is crap. It sounds good but the movie is lame. It has no place on a top list like this. :)
