Toshiba has just released a firmware update for their second generation HD DVD players. The version 2.0 firmware update applies to European players as well. The firmware fixes the dreaded “Chroma Bug”, a.k.a “CUE” or “Chroma Upsampling Error” that was present in the players prior to this update. If you are unfamiliar with CUE, hometheaterhifi.com has a great article detailing the problem. The update is available for download via your players Ethernet port.
