If you’re still holding onto your HD DVD players you are definitely in luck this year, DeadLands 2: Trapped is now available for preorder on the HD DVD format through online retailer Anthem DVD. The unrated Zombie horror film will cost you roughly $29.95. The description is as follows,
Bio-Weapon on the residents of a small Maryland city is brings down a world of Horror for 6 strangers that take refuge in a large theater cineplex.
IN ONE NIGHT, ONE TOWN WILL FIGHT AGAINST AN ENEMY…THAT NEVER STOPS, SHOWS NO EMOTION, NO REMORSE,AND IS ALREADY…DEAD!
Another release to add to your wishlist is the critically acclaimed Kazakhstan film Tulpan which releases on HD DVD April 12th, 2010. It is possible that the company behind the release (Drakes Avenue Pictures) could look into future releases on the format. We’re still looking for a retailer that allows you to preorder the film for those interested.

If you’re surprised to hear about continued releases on HD-DVD despite Blue Ray becoming the current standard, LoadingReadyRun.com created an informative video on the subject in 2008. http://loadingreadyrun.com/videos/view/313/Format-War
If one follows the news thread on this subject on the http://www.hddvd.com site, there seems to be some doubt whether this move will actually ship.
