not sure what to comment about…But im pumped for the loads of blu rays I hope to get this christmas. I asked for nightmare before christmas (already received early thanks to the gf) hangover, terminator salvation, transformers 2, star trek, district 9…hopefully it all makes it under the tree =)

I will probably get them… Even with Seamless branching, the theatrical and extended are probably best kept on different discs for these extra long movies.

Of course Warner will probably manage to squeeze them to 27 GB and leave the rest empty ;) But no doubt these will be better than anything we currently have.

I’m waiting for the extended versions. I’m sure they’ll come out eventually, and I think the first two are better than the theatrical cuts.

  4. Chris on December 16th, 2009 4:32 pm

I will hold out for the extended editions. I got suckered into buying both on DVD and I won’t make that mistake again.

  5. Mike Russo on December 17th, 2009 7:16 am

I’ll be waiting for the extended and hope that it has an option to watch the theatrical version.

  6. Dustin Harper on December 17th, 2009 7:19 am

Yes, I’ll buy the Theatrical version. I’m not a huge fan, so I really don’t mind. But, as far as visuals and sound, it’s top notch. Definitely a must buy!

I will most definitely buy the theatrical versions. The extended versions will likely not be out until 2011 or 2012 from what I’ve read. I’m not willing to wait that long for the extended. Theaterical will be fine for me until then. I’ll just sell the theatrical box when the time comes. The movies are already long enough for me, don’t need to be any longer. I can only sit for so long! I SO can’t wait until next year when these come out. Definite first day buy for me!

If New Line (nay Warner) keeps the same release strategy as before, not duplicating extras between the two versions, I will probably buy the theatrical editions. If I hear that they will include the extras from the theatrical set, then I will wait and get the extended versions. I would also hope for seemless branching on the extended versions to allow for viewing the theatrical cuts.

  9. Derric on December 17th, 2009 7:58 am

I will definitely be waiting for the extended versions.

  10. Tim Gerig on December 17th, 2009 8:00 am

For me price is always a factor, so if one version is at the price I like I will get it. If they both are at the price I like I will get the Extended Version.

  11. Jaime Valles on December 17th, 2009 8:31 am

I will absolutely wait until the extended versions are available on Blu.

  12. Hubert on December 17th, 2009 9:28 am

I will certainly be waiting for the extended versions. With Blu-ray’s capacity they could put both versions together.

  13. Justin on December 17th, 2009 5:08 pm

I’ll wait for the extended versions. I’ve waited this long. I can wait a little while longer.

  14. Moises O. on December 17th, 2009 5:24 pm

Of course I will wait for the extended version. I will also do the same for when “The Hobbit” comes out on blu-ray way ahead in the future. Not sure if “The Hobbit” will be as good as the Trilogy but we will see.

  15. Bigdmelt on December 18th, 2009 1:57 pm

Oh now I see the questions. I have seen the movies already and probably will not purchase them. They would be great blu material, but the movies for some reason just dont as some might say tickle my fancy

  16. Anthony on December 20th, 2009 5:32 pm

Thank you kindly Tyler. Thought I recalled seeing the winner listed on previous contests and never noticed the winner announced in any of the daily email updates. Must have been mistaken on both accounts.
