If you’re living outside of Asia and were hoping to import a CBHD player you’re in luck, online import retailer GBAX is allowing users to import CBHD players from the United Kingdom. For £ 259.99 ($414.54 USD) you get the following.

  • 1 CBHD player
  • 14 free CBHD discs (The Aviator, Blood Diamond, The Invasion, The Island, Flood, Posiedon, and 8 Chinese films)
  • HD, SD, etc cables

The 14 free films they include with the player might help explain why the format is selling so well. GBAX have also made a video where they unbox and review the player.

Are any Format War Central readers thinking of getting their hands on a CBHD player? The only issue you might come across if the availability of films, although according to the video if the players are a success they may look into expanding their offerings. The players should work fine in Europe although converters might be needed for other parts of the world. If anyone knows of other CBHD import stores feel free to link to them in the comments section below.

With the exception of the Chinese films, you can probably get those movies and a Blu-ray player for less money. Many of those Warner titles are often less than $15.

It would seem that this is really only of interest to Chinese folks living elsewhere.
