Joost has launched a PS3 friendly web client, allowing PS3 users to stream video content to their systems with ease. The system is currently in the beta phase some mileage will of course vary, to access the PS3 compatible client do the following.

  1. Open your PS3’s internet browser
  2. Head over to:

Simple, isn’t it? The client is also optimized for the PS3 controller,

  • Up/Down: Vertically navigate through the menus
  • Left/Right: Horizontally switch between the main menu, video list, and video info
  • X: The only button you can use to select menu items

  • Hold X down: Show the video controls
  • X + Up: fullscreen
  • X + Down: Pause
  • X + Left/Right: Previous/Next show in the video list
  • O: Exit fullscreen

Any Format War Central readers into Joost? What are your impressions of the PS3 client? Of the service overall?

Tried using the service after reading your post. Videos won’t stream to my PS3 even though the snapshot keeps showing. Compatibility issues.. am guessing.

@Uncle Buck – Interesting, did you contact Joost for more information? Perhaps content is region locked?

When i first read this article about joost being compatible now (15 minutes ago). I rushed over to the site but none of the videos/snapshots loads up or shows for me. I have no clue of the problem with my ps3/network, or on how to fix it. If that’s the problem or not. “seems I have the same problem as uncle buck”
