Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime was recently quizzed about several topics regarding his company. Among them were rumors of a Netflix Streaming service on the Nintendo Wii, his answer was surprising,
“We have nothing to announce [as] a partnership from an online streaming standpoint,” Fils-Aime said. “Should we go down that path we will do something different than our competitors.”
Interesting, perhaps Nintendo will unveil their own family focused movie service? They definitely have the technology, a Nintendo family exclusive video service with partnerships from Nickelodeon, Disney, etc could work well given the audience the Wii caters to.
Will the Netflix streaming service come as a game disc or SD card that you buy? Remember the Web Browser you could buy for the Nintendo DS?
Your thoughts?
Editors Note: Nintendo was hinting at a proprietary service last year.

I think NetFlix is THE best service out there for movies. My wife and I have been subscribed to the $10 a month plan for a year now and we have watched many, many movies along the way. Now, Nintendo on NetFlix? Wow! Now that would be something to think about! We are ready to go on a trip and having a Nintendo DS with NetFlix would be insanely entertaining!
