The BDP-899 Blu-ray player is touting region free playback for both Blu-ray and DVD with a price point that is easy on the wallet. For a mere $349 you will be able to purchase a region free, profile 2.0 Blu-ray player, specifications are available below,
- Upscales DVDs to 1080p
- BD-Live ready
- HDMI Deep Colour
- Support of: MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, Xvid, MP4 HD, WMV9, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, JPEG2000 and GIF.

i have heard from a number of sources,we will see 99.00 bd players come hoilday time,349.00 doesn’t help blu-ray get to mass adoption.
Yahoo, about time. Price doesn’t matter. I am running two players to get around this issue (American PS3 and local Panasonic)
