Monsters Inc. Makes Blu-ray Debut May 19th

Here’s a film that can definitely capitalize on the high-definition capabilities of Blu-ray. According to, the 2001 blockbuster hit “Monster’s, Inc” is being set up to make its high-def debut on May 19th.

In addition to the extras already included in the older special edition DVD, the Blu-ray version is expected to have a “Filmmakers’ Roundtable” discussion, a featurette entitled “Go Seek: Building Metropolis in Tokyo”, an original story treatment, and BD-Live connectivity.

To give anticipating viewers an idea of what to expect, the site has hinted “a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track”.

It was mentioned in the latest Home Media Magazine that Pixar’s “A Bugs Life” will also be released on Blu-ray in May.

    Definite must buy here. The Pixars are all just digital candy on Blu-ray so far.

    Agreed! Pixar has some of the best movies out period, but especially in HD! Personally I’m excited to see when Toy Story will be coming out!
