Twilight Blu-ray To Be Sold Exclusively At Best Buy/Target

Summit Entertainment’s surprise smash hit “Twilight” is as expected, being released on Blu-ray. The interesting thing is, the Blu-ray version of the title will be a Best Buy and Target exclusive when it hits store shelves March 21st.

The two retailers will enjoy their exclusive deals until May 5th, after which it will be every man store for themselves.

This has been done before with other types of media like Concert DVDs and some Artists exclusively selling their CDs at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, ect.

We also wonder if this will shut out until May 5th?

Do you think Summit is trying to stick it to Amazon in some way? Or are they just trying to maximize their first week profits, since that is when the majority of the copies are sold.

I’m somewhat ashamed to admit that I’ll probably buy this movie when it hits Blu-Ray, however I won’t be buying it from anywhere but Amazon.

The marked down price, lack of tax, free shipping, and triple reward points that Amazon offers is too sweet a deal to ignore.
