Without a doubt, my favorite movie over the past few months was The Dark Knight. -Now if only WB would consider a re-release with a constant 2.40:1 height. But for the time-being, the current BD release rocks.
Best thing I have seen recently is Paprika. Amazing anime.
I really enjoyed the Wrestler, and although not out on Blu-Ray yet – I’m sure it will be this spring post-award season. A Darren Aronofsky film that is on Blu-Ray however (as well as HD DVD) is The Fountain. I’m curious to see what’s demoed on this disc…
Do studios usually put out demo discs? I know Dolby and DTS have (audio companies) but never heard of a studio one, at least not in the HD-gen.
Lots of good movies lately, but I’ll just mention one.
Trans-Siberian with Woody Harrelson was a very good story.
Hmm, best movie I’ve seen in the last few months: Valkyrie and Hellboy II (for BD audio/video quality).
I have to say it wasnt just a movie, but a series. Band of Brothers from HBO was one of the most riveting and clearest pictured shows I had seen to date. Great sound to go along with a great story, just the complete package.
The best film I’ve seen is I’ve Loved you so long, and my pre-order for the UK Blu is in!
I would have to say the best movie I have seen in the past few months was The Producers, with Nathan Lane. I bought the Japanese import blu-ray and it has a PCM track and the quality over the dvd of both picture and sound made it like watching a brand new film.
Best movie I’ve watched in the last two months Kill Bill 1 & 2 on blu.
Best non movie (Anime series) I’ve seen recently is Last Exile (SD upconverted).
I can’t wait to see more Anime series get re-released in HD.
Might sound strange but I’d rate The Dark Knight and Wall-E about the same, each is the best this year in it’s own way.
Also recently picked up L.A. Confidential, overall the best fiction I’ve got on BD.
I recently watched The Dark Knight at my brother’s house. Needless to say I’m going to be renting a few Heath Ledger movies now to see more of his past work. Great movie!
