It seems like every week the folks at Vudu keep surprising us with a boat load of new HD titles, or some new hardware to gawk at. Now they have responded to the chatter of the Vudu box being a one trick pony.

The Vudu team has added some welcome features including YouTube video playback, Photo viewing via Flickr and Picasa, as well as some simple card games like Solitare and Freecell.

Vudu’s implementation of YouTube is the best we have seen so far on a set top device (including Apple TV, Tivo S3/HD ect.) The Vudu remote allows ultra fast browsing of YouTube clips, a task which is painfully slow on the TiVo and Apple TV.

Over the last few months Vudu has gone from weekly speculation of their demise, to becoming one of the main players in the HD content game.
