Costco has ramped up their in-store Blu-ray promotion, with large stacks of Blu-ray players right when you come in the door. They have also added a huge new Blu-ray endcap in the DVD section of the store. The endcap includes a large display dedicated to Planet Earth on Blu-ray.
Costco carries the Sony BDP-BX1 ($279.99), Samsung BD-P1500 (on sale $229.99), and the Philips BDP7200 ($249.99).
Have you seen the same displays at your local Costco?

Good for Costco! They see the demand and are ramping up to meet it!
You call this “big”?
Why would anyone purchase blu ray at 2-3x the cost? I am purchasing normal dvds with my cheap $59 upconvert DVD player and it is very very close to blu ray on my 65in 1080p.
Sure blu ray is better, but not 2-3x better.
Save your money or spend it on something else!!!
