Samsung has released new firmware for their BD-P2500/BD-P2550 Blu-ray players. The updates add Netflix’s “Watch Now” streaming video service to both players. Samsung has also added Pandora internet radio to the BD-P2550, which is a Best Buy exclusive model.

We have received word that with a little firmware hacking, the BD-P2550 firmware should be able to be installed on the BD-P2500 and the cheaper BD-P1500. We will keep you informed of the progress of getting the other models to load the BD-P2550 firmware.

To save you from pulling your hair out trying to find the links on Samsung’s website, here are direct links to the firmware updates.

You say the BD-P2550 firmware might be hacked to run on the BD-P1500. Does this mean the 1500 can run Netflix or was that just for the Pandora internet radio?
