The Hong Kong Electronics Industry Association of Innovation and Technology held their awards ceremonyon October 14th, 2008.
The CHDA took home three awards for their CBHD technology, they won under the following categories: consumer electronics group, the group of mobile electronics, and industrial electronics group.
The CBHD technology itself took home the “audience award for Innovation and Technology”, we assume either the competition was horrible or the local market is really fond of CBHD. Will it really be a red Christmas in China? (Please excuse the irony!)

Is anyone here? Hello? HELLO? Hmm, guess not…….
Yeah?
Sorry to wake you up!
I’m here :p
OK guys now everyone’s here, let’s get scrabble out
I think these kinds of awards are funny.
How innovative – to take other technologies and change them just enough to avoid royalties!
The logical and ethical questions behind the motives are mind boggling enough, let alone having this kind of thing attract awards as well!
This is kind of like Sony giving out awards for 2-3 of their own Sony-brand products. This year’s Top end game console goes to….. Playstation3. (Sorry PS2 – better luck next year)…. etc…
@Belard –
The award for the tech itself was awarded by the audience, the others were awarded by the “judges”.
Isn’t Hong Kong a bit “loose” on the rules then the rest of China?
