During a phone interview, Iron Man director Jon Favreau told Howard Stern that the Blu-ray version of Iron Man had already brokenĀ Blu-ray sales records. This was on the October 2nd Howard Stern Show, which is heard on Sirius XM Radio. You can hear the audio in the video below.
We are sure Jon has the inside info when it comes to sales numbers, so we will take his word on it until the Nielsen Videoscan numbers come out next week.
Do you guys think Favreau’s Iron Man can beat The Dark Knight to the magic 1 million sold number?
I wouldn’t doubt it breaking 500 million the first month or so but not too sure about 1 million mark on “Iron Man” by year end. It’s possible, I won’t rule it out. But I think “The Dark Knight” (once it gets a real pre-order listing up on Amazon) is going to make it’s way to at least the #2 best selling BD spot within a day or so of it’s pre-order sales.

I like how Howard asks about 1.85:1, 1.66:1, etc aspect ratio filling his screen and 2.35:1 and so forth having black bars near the end there.
@Justin Sluss –
Favreau also mentioned the Apple TV, how it was going to take over DVD sales.

Blu-ray is KING.
I’m definitely going to get this.
