The writing has been on the wall for quite some time regarding Netflix moving towards charging a premium for Blu-ray rentals – sadly it seems the time has come.
Afterdawn is reporting that Netflix has moved at least some subscribers to a new fee base for watching Blu-ray movies. It appears that the fee structure is somewhat fluid and subscribers may see and extra dollar or two added to their monthly fee depending on how many Blu-ray Discs are rented in any given month.
Let us know in comments if you see any extra charges…!

yeah thats a bit unfortunate, but i guess it makes sense. I havent gotten into blu ray yet, but does blockbuster charge extra for rentals?
@Bigdmelt12 –
In Canada a HD rental from Blockbuster is about $7-8, apparently the same has a normal rental (According to the clerk). The last time I rented a movie from Blockbuster was when the rentals had cost $5!
I see, yeah in the US i know its about 5 dollars or something around there, havent talked to anyone that has rented blu rays yet
