Toshiba Releases HD DVD Firmware Update

Toshiba UK has released Firmware 3.0 for HD-EP30, EP35, HD-E1, HD-XE1, and HD-EP10 HD DVD players.
“As part of our commitment to provide world-class service to our customers, Toshiba is supplying this firmware update for use by purchasers of the applicable models of Toshiba HD DVD Players.”
The North American website has not been updated with the latest firmware, however many AVS Forum members have reported successfully updating their players from via the firmware. According to the press releases the patch fixes various playback issues when using HDMI/DVI cables.

3.0 update is available for XA2. Installed it earlier in the week, haven’t seen any issues, also haven’t looked to see if it fixes some of the known issues.
Some people complained that the old firmware caused “jaggies” when played at 1080p 24, did you experience anything like that?
Wait… I thought HD-DVD was final!?

The 3.0 update is now available for U.S. models. Check the U.S. Toshiba site. Wish they would add DTS-HD and DTS-MA decoding.
