Blue Underground Blu-ray Page Updated

Blue Underground has launched a new web page to promote their future Blu-ray Disc releases.

While the titles they show are mostly from the horror genre, it appears that they own the rights to others as well including cult favourite The Final Countdown.

They are certainly putting a lot of effort in for their titles – the page states that their upcoming releases will feature 1080p Full HD video and dual layer 50 GB discs for maximum capacity and quality. They will also feature Dolby TrueHD and/or DTS-HD soundtracks, and some will feature D-Box coding. This is the level of attention we expect from the major studios, where often the independents settle for 1080i and Dolby Digital.

The page even features a quote from Format War Central! We remain very enthusiastic to see the smaller distributors getting into Blu-ray, especially with this level of participation. Kudos guys!

Expect these titles to be loaded with extras too – all in all excellent news to start the day!
