Paramount Blu-ray Plans Finally Revealed

Paramount has unveiled its initial release slate for Blu-ray Disc.
On May 20th they have scheduled the release of Face/Off, Next and Bee Movie, the last of which was due to be released Day and Date on HD DVD but was pulled after Toshiba quit the format.

Blu-ray Momentum Slow According to Research Firm

Video Business is reporting that Blu-ray momentum is likely to remain slow for a year to 18 months according to ABI Research.
Consumers are likely to be waiting for future players with new interactivity technology such as Web-enabled BD Live and picture-in-picture functionality, the research firm said.

With the latest Nielsen VideoScan First Alert Data for the week ending April 20 we see that Blu-ray Disc has over 90% of the HD Media market share for the first time.
