Surround Records Announces Addition of Blu-ray Support

bach.thumbnail.jpgHigh Def Digest is reporting that Surround Records, who so far have been exclusively releasing HD DVD titles, will expand its high-def disc support to include Blu-ray in addition to HD DVD.

Apparently Surround Records specializes in multichannel audio releases with little significant video content, covering perhaps a niche in the ‘next gen’ disc marketplace.

No formal announcement of titles or time lines have been made so far.

I agree with Dan. Im happy to hear of studios jumping on the bluray bandwagon, but it matters little until we hear about UNiversal, Paramount or Studio Canal.

I guess the point for Surround Records is that it’s more than the number of HD-DVD owners who care. I look forward to seeing what titles they announce.

It is an interesting sign with respect to the small volume ‘studios’. How would you feel if it was a small volume producer called Criterion? :)
