We read at blu-ray.com that Audio Video Revolution is reporting that Marantz will debut its BD8002 player at CES 2008. The player seems to have the works including Final Standard Profile, 7.1 analogue outputs and DTS-HD:MA as well as Dolby TrueHD decoding internal to the unit.
The unit also features the Silicon Optix Realta chipset for upscaling and deinterlacing and and SD card slot for additional content playback.
I don’t know about anyone else but those are the features I have been waiting for. No word on price yet – though I would not expect it to be priced at the low end by any means…

If you read the release from "Audio Video Revolution", the SRP is $2099.99, …"not at the low end by any means…"
I’d like to know whether it will play
SACDs and DVD audio discs.
