HD DVD/Blu-ray Related CES Predictions

Here are my Format War predictions for CES:CES2008.gif

  1. One or more studios will switch sides.
  2. A new HD DVD/Blu-ray combo player will be announced.
  3. We will see an explosion of PCs with HD DVD or Blu-ray playback support.
  4. Lord of the Rings will be announced with REAL Details disclosed.
  5. HDMI 1.3a will be EVERYWHERE.

    Wow Tyler, can’t believe you really went out on a limb on these. You’re a regular nostradamus. ;)  How about,1. Warner will go Red2 No new dual format players3 Mac will add a hybrid to at least one line of Macs

    I’m sticking by my earlier predictions for The Godfather Trilogy on HD DVD in 2008.  I’m not sure whether they will announce it at CES, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Paramount will confirm the anticipated release of this classic set.
