No Wonder Star Trek:TOS HD DVD Sales Are Dismal

After seeing Star Trek:TOS on “sale” at Best Buy for $179.99, we began to wonder who on earth would buy this set? The whole 3 season series can be had on DVD for around $150. We did find the Star Trek:TOS HD DVD at our local Costco for a more reasonable price of $127.99, but we wonder who would notice them in the place they were sitting. We think this new release of TOS will be for Trekkies only until the price comes down to under the $100 mark.

They have it at my local Best Buy for $129.99 (for a limited time?).
Well your getting a lot for the price, it should sell really well this season. The price point is probably because its a combo disc, but im guessing they wanted to expand the availability to a wider audience. Im planning on picking this up, I could have gotten my self a copy on day 1 for $150CDN at a future shop but I foolishly passed it up!
If they did this for TNG or DS9 Id be all over it, but I dont think TOS has as many fans as Paramount might think. Id be even happier if they rematted for widescreen. Not to mention that TOS was also finally released in seasons on dvd not too long ago (2005 I believe).
Thats true, but these have been remastered, the intro’s and stuff have been redone. So it looks more like something that was made recently, instead of in the 60s.
yeh ,i agree tos was a bad idea.the movies would have been better.i like tos but yeh next gen or ds9 or even voyager would have better too.
another, why the combos god i hate those things
Tom,
I agree, bring on the Star Trek Movies!
