avslogo_sm.jpgAny avid Blu-ray/HD DVD fan has surely heard by now that the incredibly popular AVS forum had closed its doors to next-gen media fans/fanboys alike earlier this week when the members began to take the whole “war” a bit too seriously and actually threatened physical harm against their opposition.

Well, AVS has re-opened the Blu-ray/HD DVD forums, but beware because according to the folks over at AVS, the times they are a-changin’.

Some of the new rules:

- Stories including the following things will be removed (number of player units sold, number of disc titles and format types sold)

– Absolutely NO trolling, accusing someone of being a shill, baseless posts, attacking other sites for their thoughts, attacking fellow members of the press or media, promoting other sites, petition posts, or “Buy Day” posts.

- Be helpful whenever possible, ex. Explaining patches, updates, technical issues, etc….

There are more, and we suggest that if you plan on posting on AVS you had better check out the link before you resume posting as our rules are not complete/official.
