Video Business is reporting the launch of a new promotional campaign by studio and consumer electronics manufacturers that support the format.
The article describes a television campaign aimed at ‘educating’ the public that DVD is not the best source to be using for HDTVs. The commercials are said to emphasize the marriage of Blu-ray and HDTV.
Also interesting are the people quoted in the article, especially Dan Silverberg, VP of HD media development for Warner Home Video. There has been rumbling in the forums of late about Warner’s support of formats and the potential for Warner to side with one over the other.
The article also notes that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment sold its millionth disc last week with the Blu-ray Disc release of Surf’s Up.
