Paramount has announced that the Transformers HD DVD has sold 190K copies in its first week. They are also claiming 100K copies sold on the first day. While this does eclipse the first week sales of “300″ on Blu-ray or HD DVD alone, it doesn’t beat the combined sales for “300″.
note: For those that purchased the Transformers HD DVD, the extras on the 2nd disc are a must watch!

If these numbers are true, the sales of Transformers is almost 10% of the total HD DVD sales since inception to September 30 2007. That is quite amazing.
Imagine all the money they would have made and units they would have moved if they kept with their original plan and released on BLURAY too.
