What can we say, we love checking out what’s new at our local Costco. During our latest trip we decided to give our readers the low down when it comes to Costco’s stance in the HD DVD/Blu-ray format war. The displays seen here may or may not be the same as at your local Costco. If your local warehouse has a different setup we would love to see/hear about it!

Does your Costco sell the Toshiba for $249 *after* a rebate, or is it $249 straight-up?
The Costco by my office, and one by my house don’t have HD DVD discs, and I’m happy to see from your pictures that they do carry them in the chain. The Costco by my house has two HD DVD displays, but the second one is hidden behind a TV they use to play TMNT, which makes it completely unclear that you’re watching it on HD DVD. And then two aisles over, they have a demo for Planet Earth, which would have probably been much better if they’d hooked it up to one of the HD players instead of SD.
Costco is funny like that about carrying some things in one store but not another. The Costco on one end of my town has fewer HDTVs to pick from than the new one they opened on the opposite end. And then they sell many things online which aren’t available at the store and vice-versa.
Wow, $18.99?! I’m definitely going to get myself a membership at Sam’s Club before Heroes hit’s shelves next Tuesday.
Pravin,
It’s $249.99 no rebate.
