Want to see what your missing by watching Hot Fuzz on standard DVD? Well our man Xylon on AVSForum has posted some screenshots comparing the HD DVD to the DVD side of the Combo disc. I definitely agree with you about the optometrist bit. I’ve had a couple people come over and claim they don’t really see the difference. They’re either, as you say, blind or they’re simply lying to themselves because they don’t want to justify buyin into the world of HD.
I just watched the SD version on a 51″ HD set and it doesn’t look nearly as bad as some of those screenshots — is that running over compisite or something?? And I have an HD player and do indeed appreciate the difference between SD and HD, but this is like a bad propoganda piece…
