Toshiba is set to launch the new HD DVD-R equipped Qosmio G40/F40 series laptops May 25th in Japan. Owners will be able to record terrestrial HD broadcasts, as well as burn the recordings to HD DVD-R discs for playback in standalone HD DVD players. Price for the HD DVD-R burning G40 will be approximately 430,000 Yen.
